Word has broken that Natalie Portman sold off her 10 acre Montecito property last year, Dirt reports. The Black Swan actress and her husband, dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied, purchased the modern estate in 2017 for $6.5 million and were paid $8 million for the property in an off market deal. The four bedroom, five bathroom home was designed by Barton Myers and built in 2008 with the sleekest of materials.
An abundance of glass, steel, and concrete allows the occupants of the 3,991 square foot home to appreciate the surrounding natural glory. Views of the Pacific Ocean in the distance, combined with the much closer mature trees and other gorgeous foliage flawlessly balance these industrial materials, particularly in the double height great room. The large space is backed by glass “garage” doors that lift up to open directly to these views and the concrete pool. Dividing walls are used in this space to separate the kitchen and the dining and living area.

The rest of the house is considerably less airy, and the great room is the only space with double height ceilings, though each room does offer direct access to the exterior, with several distinct outdoor spaces spread across the property. A pathway from one of these spaces leads up a spacious area with six planters that seem well suited for a vegetable garden. With 10 acres of private space, there’s clearly plenty to explore outside, and the single story home’s low profile allows it to easily fit into this landscape. It is not known exactly where Portman, Millepied, and their two children, 10-year-old Aleph and 4-year-old Amalia, live now, but they were reportedly house hunting in Australia in May of 2021.
