In the market for a Malibu escape? Newly-retired NBA star Chandler Parsons has listed his five bedroom, five bathroom home in the coastal city for $17 million, Dirt reports. This comes not long after the athlete announced his retirement from basketball following a devastating car crash that left him injured in early 2020. During his nine year career, he played for the Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, and the Atlanta Hawks.
We don’t know where Parsons, his fiancé, and their baby daughter plan to live next, but the Malibu abode they’re leaving behind is comparable to a luxury resort. Built in 1990, the residence is modern in style, but not boxy—in fact, the formal living room has a curved wall that makes the perfect alcove for a piano. The floors are walnut and white oak, and the kitchen cabinets are also made of a light wood, which, coupled with light quartz countertops, makes the space feel beach-appropriate. Foldaway glass doors and multiple balconies allow for seamless indoor-outdoor living.

The outdoor amenities on the gated property include a large deck, outdoor pizza oven, a saltwater pool and spa, a fire pit, a covered pavilion with a kitchenette and bar, and a tennis court. There is also a detached guest house with a gym, game room, movie theater, and rooftop deck. The Malibu coastline isn’t far away, and is accessible by golf cart. It doesn’t seem like Parsons made any major changes to the home since he bought it in 2019, but he stands to make large profit: he paid $9.25 million for the place, which previously belonged to the creator of CSI.
